If you are looking for a relaxing trucking game. American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 are for you. Depending on how you like to play simulator games, you would have to choose which game best fits you (both are enjoyable). You will need to decide if you like trucks better or a map that is pretty much being finished or purchase both.
If you are looking for a game that is in progress and slowly gets new content American Truck Simulator is for you. American Truck Simulator came out in February 2016 and has come some way but we are excited to see what is in the future. there are currently 8 states in the game. In the base map, you will receive California and Nevada. There are 6 Brands, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Volvo, International, Mack, Western Star, and most recently Freightliner. The highest horsepower is 625hp and has an 18-speed transmission. There is a good chunk of trailers that you can own and customize, but there are also default trailers. Euro Truck Simulator 2 came out in October 2012. This game is pretty much complete with the map and trucks. The map goes as far West as Spain / Portugal and goes as far East as Iberia. The map also goes as far north as Finland and south as Italy. To go as far as these borders you will need to purchase the downloadable content from the Steam store page. The game developers are still making paid downloadable content such as a variety of tuning packs that can be used on all trucks and trailers. The trucks are not as powerful in transmission as American Truck Simulator. The highest horsepower is 750hp but has a 12-speed transmission. Another cool thing about these simulators is either most people who drive in real life play these to keep the trucking in real life fun, but there have been a decent amount of people who use these simulators to go get their Commercial Drivers license (CDL) which shows people actually use the gaming simulators other than just playing.
